One of the major resolutions most people have for 2020 is to lose weight. Today losing weight has become a goal for most people. In this century, people are so obsessed with losing weight that there are so many weight loss products and people invest loads of money; eat pills, drink powders, wear belts because they seem magical and will make you “FAT TO FAB” overnight.

The world has revolutionized, but the secret to weight loss is still unknown. Studies have found that most people lose very little weight and gain it right back. Over the years, there are many diet plans which claim that they are planned scientifically but in reality, these diets are just as same as the old ones with different names and sometimes not at all related to science. But the thing about a diet plan is that it is difficult to stay consistent.

This century, most people have invented so many diets. Two of them are the famous Ketogenic diet and the Atkins diet which have gained popularity over the last few years and focuses on eating high fat, moderate protein, and low carb. You cannot have rice, flour, pasta or bread for the rest of your life. Can you even imagine not eating all of this? These diets are not sustainable in the long run because it will not only enhance your cravings more but will also make you irritable.

There is no harm in losing weight and making yourself fit. In fact, there are many benefits to losing weight. These benefits will only be achieved if eating is done in a proper healthy way. Which means eating in a deficit but eating proper nutrition and doing a proper workout.

Some of the benefits of losing weight are

1. More energetic 

A person feels more energetic than before. Losing weight increases your stamina. When you eat healthily and in the proper quantity you will observe improved energy.

2. Confidence

Confidence should not be a hurdle between you and your weight. But it is true, when you lose weight you become more confident. You will feel happy in your own skin.

3. Improved health

When you lose weight, a lot of health problems and risks of health problems are decreased. For example, lower cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and all hidden issues are rectified.

4. Healthy lifestyle

If lost weight with diet and exercise, your lifestyle will change drastically. Eating vegetables and fruits will become a hobby, working out every day will become a part of your lifestyle.

5. Social circle

Though a person should be against it after a person has lost weight there social circle is doubled in size. A person should not count this as a benefit but it is true.

6. Positivity

A lot of people say this when a person loses a certain number of inches, they feel good and positive about themselves. Their aims are changed from losing weight to conquering the world.

7. Improved mood

Because you see positivity in almost everything, your mood is improved. You feel better about yourself. When you start loving yourself, you love every person around you.

8. Younger look

Believe it or not, but once you have lost a couple of inches you will look younger and fit. You will observe people complimenting you more about losing weight and looking younger. Because younger looks are considered as one of the factors of looking beautiful.
9. Clothes

Clothes will fit you better. Your old clothes will fit you perfectly. This not only makes you happy but also motivates you to work hard as well.

10. Skin

Your skin glows if you are eating your food properly. Your skin becomes beautiful, and all the toxins are released too.

People say everything has its advantages and disadvantages. An extreme to everything is dangerous. Which means if dieting becomes too intense and prolonged, it can result in severe side effects too. Easy weight loss is surely a goal but it can have so many side effects on your body too.

Some of the cons of weight loss are

1. Malnutrition

 Dieting the wrong way can cause a lot of deficiencies. Iron, Calcium and vitamins are the most common deficiency. This happens because of not eating properly and starving yourself to death most of the time

2. Imbalances

Hormonal and electrolytes imbalances occur when you diet intensely. These imbalances can actually be life-threatening. These imbalances have symptoms and everyone should observe them closely.

3. Irritability

When you are not eating properly, your hunger increases and your cravings are not satisfied. Your mood becomes annoying and everything around you will irritate you.

4. Hair loss

Eating a low protein diet, can cause hair to fall. Hair needs nutrients to grow and when those nutrients are not fulfilled hair becomes weak and fragile and then they start falling.

5. Skin

Your skin becomes dull and dry. The glow will vanish because of not having proper meals your skin requires.

6. Constipation

Constipation means a hard movement of the bowel to pass or they happen less than normal. Not eating enough fiber can cause constipation.

7. Sagging skin

Losing weight can cause sagging skin. This happens when the skin is not able to shrink as quickly as the body.

8. Trouble sleeping

Food affects your sleep patterns. The relationship between sleep and food is weird but direct. Proper diet leads to a successful sleep but lack of carbohydrates can cause sleeplessness.

9. Depression

When you do not eat what you want, you get sad and that leads to depression. One of the major reasons for depression is not doing what you want to do.

10. Changes

A lot of changes in your mind and body. Your body is affected physically and mentally.

Weight loss is one of the goals most people achieve. If your goal is to lose weight then it is a good thing but losing weight the wrong way is wrong and can be life-threatening.

Weight loss is considered very difficult but in reality, it is elementary. Eating healthy, deficit and proper exercise can be really effective when losing weight. Consistency, hard work, and patience are the key to lose weight. Without these factors, losing weight is as difficult as climbing a mountain.

All body shapes are good and one should say no to body shaming but it is completely okay if somebody wants to be fit and adopt a healthy lifestyle. No judgments here. So stop investing money in supplements and get in shape the right and natural way.
